It would seem that part of the issue of getting a TPMG owned and controlled forum is not only finding an administrator but it is also a matter of having enough money to pay for the server. The piggy bank seems to be broken.

The forum is an integral part of TPMG and without one it would be very difficult to have the real life events and workshops. Because of the intertwined nature it can not be broken off and run by one or two individuals that want to own it and make unilateral decisions on what is best for everyone.

By signing up for this event you are agreeing to donate at least the amount of money under the column you signed up for. All the money raised will go into a TPMG managed fund. This is a commitment so at a certain point the signup sheet will be frozen and the money will be collected. If by chance only a few people support this method of raising funds then so be it no funds will be collected no harm done.

I'm not sure how but before any money is actually donated there will have to be some transparency and accounting for all incoming and outgoing funds.

Any excess funds will be used to support TPMG activities. By having these funds it gives the power back to the members to decide what we want TPMG to become or even just let it stay the same. We can still consider taking up offers of sponsorship that maybe offered now and in the future, indeed some are already on the table.

I will close the event off a few days before the Tpmg town hall meeting.

none of the organizers have talked about the piggy bank or the server and I would like to know their inputs on this.

I can put up a lot more than $15 as long as it's sanctioned by tpmg.
