Does anyone know how to be part of TIFF as a photographer and credentials?

Also does anyone know you can be a volunteer photographer for TIFF?

Volunteers do NOT do photography at TIFF.
Volunteers are positions which disappear VERY quickly in this city.

If you want to be a TIFF photographer, you need to be hired on. Credentials are otherwise offered up as other exclusive press-pass materials are in the city.
But being public events you can camp out at any event and shoot yourself.

Wait in the bathroom; even celebrities have to pee sometime. That's your big moment to catch them with their pants down.

Literally.

Beat them to the punch, get a longer lens, or produce better work than they do.
Then you have your territory.

Been there, done that. Hated it. Would rather watch paint dry. Imo, re:TIFF, photographers are seen as a step above pond scum and treated accordingly. ymmv

Last year I saw a photographer on stilts. You can try that. But if you fall, your D4 w/ 28-80 would break; so it's probably a bad idea.

Press credentials aren't usually handed out to just anyone. You either have to work for a publication, or freelance at a level where you can have members of the press/past clients vouch for you. If I were you I would watch our Job Listings sub forum leading up to the event (9 MONTHS FROM NOW), I think there was a posting for an assistant last year. I don't know if photographers post these types of job opportunities on Kijiji/Craigslist but you might want to watch those too.

They were also hiring for a Graphic designer and a PR assistant I believe.
If all else fails, try those!
