This can't be what it looks like? This camera can shoot in SUPER slow motion enough to actually see pulses of light hitting objects and bouncing off? Like Super-bullet time? Insane.

Saw it linked on Nikon Rumors.

an Array of 500 slow capturing sensors.

The sample video is extremely underwhelming.
I also find it funny that they have a standard DSLR above their camera.

I find this video much more compelling:

I think they were going for the, "Pfft! That's not a camera. This...is a camera."

yeah i thought that was funny too!

Darn, can't follow that youtube link while at work. Yeah, original video wasn't the best, but simply seeing light bounce off an object and how it lights up others from the reflection is super cool to me. Big geek here. :)

I saw thee vid on Visteks blog. Its ridiculous to imagine being able to see light move through time. Those MIT people and the supercomputers in their heads seem to come up with some neat toys.

Plus the ability to sync 1 dimensional camera exposures, laser pulses and a spinning mirror fast enough to record a beam of light thats about 1cm long... I will never use the phrase "high speed sync" again on my camera.

I agree. I get to study the stuff for work, and then make art.
Fortunately I also determine what sites are and are not allowed to be browsed from the office

Wasn't it Obvious.
IT does super-slow motion HHHHDR.
Holy, Hyper, Humongous, Heavenely, High Dynamic Range.
Duh.
It captures so much HDR in fact that light you can't see smacks you in the face.
