Toronto Photography Meetup Group

Does anyone know where's a closest place to Toronto to take some decent night shots without city lights blowing out the stars? (preferably north of Toronto)

Torrence Barrens is a dark sky reserve where TPMG has gone before, there is a link to an event in august, but you can go by yourself anytime too:

even close to the city you can still get some good shots as long as it is a nice clear night.

This one was from just minutes north of Brampton.

An even where there is a lot of light pollution, you can often still get really good shots by pointing in the opposite direction.

I tried one in Mississauga (near Churchill Road) and results were poor so I had to bin it
