Very cool! One of these days I'll get to see them there northern lights! I even toyed with with the idea of doing a Churchill photo tour but the cost of getting there was considerably more than an all-inclusive down a sunny destination. ARGH!

Hrm... why don't we do a Northern Lights trip to Norway this year and maybe a "Southern Lights" trip to Bolivia next year. Unfortunately I don't have enough time off of work to do both. Maybe we can both just settle on Denmark.

seeing Northern Lights have been on my bucket list for a long time...
I'm like you, Carlton, i looked up various places to catch glimpse of these dancing lights but gave up. I ended up going to Caribbean last year.. lol.

Other than Alaska/Yukon, Fort McMurray, Churchill seem to be the only place closer with a realistic chance of seeing one naked eye, if I'm taking time off work. Northern Quebec or Ontario is just hit and miss unless you live there...

In good years, of high sunspots, they can be seen from just a little north of Toronto. Getting to the other side of the Niagara Escarpment, for example, helps to block the light pollution from the GTA. The winter of 2014 should be good.
