Does anybody know where to get CD/DVD digipaks printed with one's choice of photo?

They are like little cardboard CD covers, like this: http://www.discwizards.com/cd-dvd-artwork-templates.htm

I'm looking to print a few (less than 5), and the usual suspects (Blacks, SDM) don't seem to have it.

help?

Alternatively, what's a classy way to giftwrap a CD with a photo, short of printing a 5x7, cropping to size, and jamming it into the front cover?

err, nvm.

smallest production run is "as small as" 50, for a cost of over $200...

I think I saw the jewel case covers sold in something like staples before, not sure if they still carry these.

covers are easy, you can get them at most places that sell CD-Rs.

what i'm looking for is a printer that can do a package with photo printed on the card cover.

If you want a single-run solution that is also inexpensive, you'll probably have to make do with the Avery DVD jewel case inserts (I think those'll cover front, spine and back). Printing right on the disc can have really great results too, especially if you use blanks with a pearlescent finish.

I did a small run of canvas-wrapped DVD cases from GTA Photo for a client around Christmas time. The final product is really nice and much more substantial than the cardboard folders, although these ones go for about $30 each.

Thanks Brian. I was hoping for something around $5 or less. I suppose I'd look for a local printer (not photo shop) to get a laser print on card stock, then cut that to size to insert in a jewel case.

I've used TPH (BCE Place location) in the past for my brochures and other promo material, and they've been very good. It looks like they can do single quantities of CD/DVD kits (disc, jewel case, liner notes, etc.) for under $10 each.

Otherwise, I'd go the Avery DIY insert route:

Thanks again Brian. I'm going to send the job to TPH, and see what comes out of it.

got the CD back. wish the paper stock was heavier, the paper seemed just a little bit wrinkly. Otherwise, acceptable for the cost.

Colour rendition is accurate (within the bounds for prints) except the print on the CD, which looks a little too red.

I'll probably go back to them in future, and ask for different paper stock.

Yeah, I wouldn't expect miracles at that price point, but it's cool they were able to turn it around so quickly.
