To be fair...maybe the guy was new / fairly new and still hasn't learned about all the equipment. I deal with customers everyday at my day job and I work in a store where when I first joined, I had no idea about any of the inventory. Took me awhile but the first 3 months when I panicked in front of a customer I'd make something up like...."oh no we don't carry that" or whatever. Not the best line of action I agree, but sometimes people panic and don't want to look like fools so they try to get around it....just my 0.2 cents though.
