Someone has. I've seen it and I pretty sure I saw it here. Although, from clicking the links the pics look a little more vibrant than they were the last time I saw them.

Yeah, the article is different and there are new images. The previous article was kinda poorly written. Haven't read this one yet.

Yeah, I was just thinking you'd posted the story behind these before, so I am not crazy, that's a relief

A different link to the photos was posted here last year, but the collection itself has been on exhibit at the Library of Congress since 2003:

One nifty technical aspect is that he create colour photographs from a composite of monochrome images taken with red, green and blue filters. The RGB data was then later recombined to form a full-colour image, reminiscent of the way digital images are captured today. :)

I'm pretty sure there's better indicators of mental illness than THAT one.

Photo #8 states "Isfandiyar, Khan of the Russian protectorate of Khorezm. This photo would have been taken near the start of his reign in 1910, when he was 39 years old. He ruled Khorezm until his death in 1918."

I'm fairly confident he fled Russia and took up in Ethiopia where he ruled as Haile Selassie I.
