Hello all,

I'm planning to visit Montreal and Old Quebec city at the end of the month labour day weekend.
Can anyone pinpoint any sightseeing spots that's worth visiting and take a picture of?

Every recommendation counts! :) :)

I've never spent any time in Montreal with a camera in hand (just beers in hand - God Bless the Depanneurs).

Quebec historic city is mall and concentrated - lots too see and everything is within walking distance. I love Quebec City. It is old world charming. Distinct architecture. One of my 'things' is to photograph urban fragments and Quebec City has a unique style of its own.

My web gallery is from a 3 day visit:

For Montreal

* Vieux Montreal and Old Port - beautiful architecture, cobble stones, and churches.

* St Joseph Oratoire (and for fantastic pastries, look for Duc De Loraine within walking distance)

* Noon on Sundays, the Tam Tams are fun to experience. It's at the base of Mont Royal Park, near the angel statue and afterwards you can walk to the top to see a view of the city. You can also drive to a lookout on the side of the mountain for a different view. The parking lot is really small tho so walking to the top is usually the best option.

* La Ronde (small version of Canada's wonderland) or the Casino on the south shore if you want to play.

* Must eats - Bagels, Smoked Meat and pastries!

w-w-w-what about poutine in the early hours of the morning from a dirty dingy wrestling-themed joint opposite a sex-porn shop on St. Laurent? (is it still open?)

In Quebec City there is excellent tortiere and also creton sandwiches.

I was there in the Quebec city couple of days back. It was simply awesome.
Entirely different from Toronto. It looks that you are in any European small city.

Architecture, old building, everything is there. Lots of photo options too.. :D

I wouldn't say any as every country is different, but it does look similar to France in a way

:D . I find it similar to many Scotland small cities.. I mean it is like all old European cities which consist of Architectural buildings and all the old monuments.

@PotatoEYE:- enjoy the moment there. hope to see some of the stunning pictures of Quebec city from your hand as usual.. :)

Great shots. Thanks for sharing this. :)
How did you manage to get everyone out of your shots most of the time?

The photo with a lady in front of a shop is stunning! Love that one :)

I was shooting in-between crowds, at night time and longer exposures most of the time, just wait for a gap and fire away

If you go a little East of Quebec city there is Montmorency falls that Phil has covered as well as Ste-Anne Canyon

Do you think all of these can be done in one-day visit?

I doubt, as there is a lot to see, but nothing is impossible. Just keep in mind the Canyon closes around 5-6 I believe (they shut down the water)
