It can also refer to Cosina Voigtlander cameras and lenses, these are made by Cosina and sold under the Voigtlander brand. It's used to differentiate products from the old Voigtlander which was bought out and shut down by Zeiss around 1970.

just to note, a CV, as in the non-photography related meaning, in different countries could represent different things, what is called a CV in Russia and Eastern Europe is called Resume in North America, CV here represents an academic document for universities/colleges etc :wink:

Actually that's not exactly correct. While the term resume predominates, CV is still used as a synonym in this use as well as for the academic version (which is where the term and concept originates).

In cars it refers to Constant-Velocity, as in a CV joint. It allows the axle to move to different angles and still transfer power.

CV and Resume are two different things as Mawz points out.
Unfortunately the majority of us are desensitized to such things now, and what's popular
