There was no black and white film - but there was quite a lot of tungsten film - which suited me fine, since that was what I was looking for. Saw a lot of familiar faces, so it was cool.

Looks like I'll be ending up the big winner today. :P

One of the things I wanted to look for was a 58mm->SeriesVII filter adapter; in the first few minutes of the show I found the filter adapter, and it just happened to be attached to a semi-fisheye (which is wider than the wide angle converters on the market)...and it was only $35!

I haven't had a chance to take pics of it yet, after the camera show I went shopping for computer parts.

But here is a page where someone is selling one for ~$100CDN with a picture of the lens and some sample images:
http://translate.google.ca/translate?hl ... f%26sa%3DG

Although when I try it on my 28mm equiv. lens it has a circular fisheye effect (like looking down a tunnel with vignetting all around the image).

Actually, I've tried decent fisheyes from Raynox, and my camera couldn't focus, even when done manually...but with this new one it locks on right away and the image appears to be sharp (looking at the back of the camera).

Here is a trick I found to determine when the Henrys shows are scheduled. Since they are held at the International Centre, go to that website's event calendar to find the dates. It also shows what hall it is in so you will know where to park.

Thanks for reposting transit info but those are old dates (use the dates I posted above) and the transit information is incomplete:

- Toronto International Camera Show
Thornhill Community Centre
7755 Bayview Ave.
The YRT Bayview091 and Milliken002 buses stops across the street from it.

- Photographica Fair
At the Soccer Centre in Woodbridge
Martin Grove Road just south of Hwy 7
PHSC will have the free bus from Kipling subway station again for those who don't drive.
You can also take YRT Highway7-077 bus, but you'll have to walk south on Martin Grove for ~10 minutes from Highway7.

- Henry's Photographic & Digital Imaging Show
Toronto International Centre
You can get there by TTC from Lawrence West station but it requires paying an additional adult fare, Malton58B or D only!

Depends on what you're expecting to buy. It's mostly film stuff there.
I brought $50 to buy a lens cap for my TLR and some 120 film.
I'm not expecting to buy a camera so I'll probably bring about the same this year. But who knows.. you might find a good deal.

Anyone know if there's a bank or ATM near the Thornhill centre??

There's a CIBC ATM down the street on John I think there's another one further down the street in a convenience store.

Or head towards Yonge on John and there's a CIBC Branch there as well.

Of course, the closest one tends to be tapped out fairly early on Show Days <g>

I'm planning being there about 9:40 ish... I'm going to take a look and have like $50 on me.

I'm coming from the Bloor West, if anyone needs a ride, but I won't be coming back that way after.

See you all there!

I've bought lenses, almost bought a body there, so you have to decide how much you want to spend.

There's also a bank machine in the community centre (just walk past the bathrooms and down the hall a bit). The only thing it's a 3rd party company (that's probably owned by one of the banks to make more money in fees).

Not confirmed, but I assume since the sheet with coupon in scanned and online, that you can print and take it in to save on admission.

So students get in FREE! Though it'll be my last time. =(

Good to see some familiar faces at the show. Came out with 50 rolls of film today.

- Got a 285HV for $20, although it has a damaged foot (I just happen to already own a replacement foot for it) and the battery holder is missing (seen these at the show a million times, but couldn't find one today; will have to order one through Henry's for $17, still a deal, may wait to see if I find one at the Woodbridge show in two weeks).

- Also got a high voltage supply for the 285HV for $2 (but it requires the AA batteries to be inserted in the flash to work).

- Picked up a Sekonic L328 for $60 to replace my fried one (I pledge to never hook up a flash directly to the meter ever again, even through a safesync).

- Finally a few books and some cheap umbrellas.
