Hi, I'm thinking about making the jump for Olympus OMD. Main reason is size of body and lenses ( I'm thinking about one walk-around kit zoom and one pancake fast lens )
Anybody have done ? Are you happy ? I mainly shooting kids ( portraits, sports, outing).

I'm also using RX100 when I want to go really light.

Mark

I forgot to add. I did try it couple years ago with Olympus PL-1. I was ok with image Q, but couldn't stand the interface/control.

I picked up a canon sl1 and the 40mm pancake...works great as a walk around and family event combo.

I was thinking about it. I'm testing the T2i with the new 24mm pancake as the compact package :). I'll have to check SL1, it doesn't look that much smaller on pictures.

recently i am considering getting a mirrorless camera due to the size and weight of the dslr body too,
what had been getting my interest is the fujifilm line, their dynamic range look amazing, any though of that ?

Did you guys make the switch? (Mark & stanleylee) - living with it ok?

Now that I'm a newish father I'm bringing the photobag out less and less and thinking about making the switch to a smaller system. Originally I was thinking about a sony A7 system but the lenses seem relatively large due to FF.

Maybe I should just slap a 40MM pancake on my 5d3 or 50 1.8 II and just live with it.

I am a Nikon user and tried to make the switch to Micro System and just could not get into it. Bought a great second hand camera from a friend and ended up selling it. Kept the lenses that I had accumulated for the system and had a cheaper Panasonic GF2 converted to IR. I guess that I am so into birding that I need a DSLR for the burst mode. I also did not like the electronic viewfinder!

Thanks for your feedback, AF/burst modes are definitely something I keep reading about in regards to mirrorless still lacking a bit.
