Hi there,
I'm looking for feedback on how much it should cost to repair my 24-70 lens. Vistek quoted $409 to replace the usm focusing assembly and collars and do an internal check and adjustment.
Does that price make sense? The parts are a fraction of that cost from what I could find, but I gues labor costs?

Thanks in advance for any input!
Krista

Canon is just up the street from Nikon.

Yes, that price seems reasonable for such a repair. I paid over $500 for a similar repair for an 80-200 I brought to Nikon in Mississauga.

To do a lens clean, change gasket and replace a couple bushings cost me over $300. at Sun. So $409. doesn't sound too unreasonable. That said, I'd rather take it Sun who is an authorized warranty repair center for Canon.
