What are peoples thoughts b/w Phase One Capture 8 Pro or Lightroom 5.7 as an alternative. I have thousands of photos in my Aperture library. I need a solid long term and dependable solution.

I just moved everything over to Lightroom.
At $10/month for Lightroom and Photoshop, it didn't seem so bad. I was always a GIMP user, but Photoshop is much easier to use and the algorithms seemed a little more refined.

Since I do little editing in Lightroom itself, I can easily change to something else in the future if I must. I might lose some of the metatdata, but everything is organized in obvious folders so it's not the end of the world.

I'd go with Lightroom, UI is more logical to me vs capture pro

If your always shooting tethered C1 may be better. For all other uses LR wins.
