Any suggestions on which wide angle lens to purchase for great travel photography?

If you're on FF, I'd recommend the 16-35 2.8. I recently purchased this for a trip to Iceland and it served me really well. There is a little distortion on the wide end, but that's to be expected and can be fixed in post.

I've also used a 10-22mm with my 40D back in the day, and it was really fun to mess around with. Used it for concert photography though, so I'm not sure about out in the wild. A lot more distortion on this at the edges, as to be expected.

Another option would be the older canon 17-35 2.8L.....look for it on ebay
