I'm looking to upgrade my cheapo tripod.

This one is one my list...any thoughts on it would be appreciated.

I dont own one but this one looks good.
To me there is two things which is important on buying a tripod.
1. Stability
2. Weight.
Good luck.

It is very stable...I'm just thinking that I haven't seen too many tripods at that price point with a ball head!

Thanks for replying.

Induro is actually quite a decent brand with very reasonably priced tripods. I have used a few (not this one in particular) and they have all be quite solid. for the price it is a definite go depending on what you want to put on it

I have the model one level down.

The ballhead on that model (AKB1) will move quite significantly on you when you tighten down.

Heaviest lenses are 70-200f4/24-105/200 2.8

I think its rated for 16-18lbs. Price is very attractive.

I've owned a few Induros but not this model. Fliplocks are conveniently quick but they can break, so I've always gone for a twistlock.

Seems like a good price with a ballhead. Some may prefer to buy legs and heads separately.

Induro is associated with Benro, and none of the ones that I've owned gave me any problems and are nicely built.

Why odd? Using a "loose" ballhead, I would frame a shot. Once I like the composition, I would tighten the ballhead. As I tighten the ballhead, I can see the camera move and the composition change. Actually, quite a common phenomena on low quality ballheads.

I will ask them if I can mount a combo on the tripod to see how much movement there is before I make the purchase..thanks for the heads-up!

Make sure you test with the heaviest combo you might potentially use. Also movement is more noticeable at higher magnification (ie telephotos or macros).
