I understand Adobe offers $9.99 monthly subscription for PS and LR until tomorrow December 2.

I wonder it is a good deal for non-professional photographers like me. Currently I use mostly LR, and occasionally PS.

Have you subscribed to this plan?

If you MUST have the latest versions, maybe but if you run software for more than a few years, maybe not. The 20gb cloud storage is probably a lure but when you drop out, all the CC perks evaporate.

I need a new PS/CS (CS2 won't run on Lion etc) but not feeling the CC option. If Gimp's gui was more like CS, I'd try that.

I'm sure it depends on your situation. I found this deal to he a good opportunity to "go legit" so to speak. I rely on both of these apps heavily. Do I need any of the post LR4/CS3 features for my photography? Definitely not, but purchasing a permanent license for both of these apps would probably equal 3 or so years of this CC bundle, so why not try it for a year and re-asses later on?

If you have already paid adobe for a slightly older version of these apps, then I agree, probably not worth it, unless there is some magical new feature that you cant live without. If you are a legitimate user/customer, and you even plan on updating once every 5 years, it may be worth it. LR update prices are around $60-80, PS update prices are around $250-$350. Thats $300-400 every 5 years. Cheaper than CC sure, but paying an extra $200 or so over the course of 5 years might be tempting to always have the latest updates wouldn't it? Either way, i dont think we have any choice in the matter going forward anyways.

Same situation as me. I was about to pull the trigger on Lightroom 5 ($150) and then this deal came up. Seems like a no-brainer for now, but we'll see how much Adobe raises the price in a year.

Agreed - although LR for Mobile is very limited. Oddly enough the editing is more capable than the features I would have though were lighter weight such as keywording and star rating - both of which are notably absent from the launch version of LR Mobile.
