Yesterday I was following a Mamma and Baby deer. Just as I was getting in close enough to get my shot my 7D froze up. It would not Autofocus, access CF card or Menu, and in fact would not power off. I only got it working again after I popped out the battery and replaced it. Anyone ever experience such a thing or know what this was all about? I just got this camera a week ago and am worried that there is something really wrong.

Most upsetting because once the camera was working again I was unable to find the deer again.

I have not experienced that but I have encountered battery communication errors which did require a Canon repair. Is this error reproducible?
