Yeah but the "what camera do you own" question is considerably easier to answer than "what lens do I own". This question is carpal tunnel inducing.

Canon:

Canon EF 70-200 F2.8L IS II USM
This lens quickly became my favourite range when shooting 35mm and it remained so when on 1.6 crop. Back then I had a Sigma EX which was a fantastic lens that created some of the best bokeh I've seen. It's a very versatile workhorse of a range and I enjoy using it. I have this version because it's an incredible lens.

Canon EF 100 F2.8L IS USM Macro
I enjoy close up photography, not quite macro. That requires a lens with a decent minimum focus. I'd like to get better with macro and this is the lens to have. It's a great performer up close but I find I don't like using it for subjects further away. I'd rather use the 70-200.

Canon EF 24-70 F2.8L USM
When I first started shooting in a more invested way this was my dream lens. I had an UWA, a 70-200 and a macro but no general lens. I shot that way for years until I sold the UWA and the macro to buy the Brick. I'm glad I did, this lens has brought me some great results. While I don't enjoy using it as much as the 70-200 it is a very practical lens to have.

Hasselblad:

Hasselblad C 80mm f2.8 T* Zeiss Planar Lens
This is the 50mm equivalent to 35mm field of view. It's the lens that most commonly comes with Hasselblad kits. It's a neat lens but the MFD is sucky (three feet?!). It's also my first Zeiss lens. Like the blad itself there is a nice tactile feel to it and it's fun to use.

Lets see, I have quite the fuji collection now.

Fuji 35mm f1.4
Fuji 18mm f2
Fuji 14mm f2.8
Fuji 55-200mm f3.5-4.8
Rokinon 8mm f2.8 Fisheye (manual focus)
Nikon to Fuji adapter
Nikon 50mm f1.8D
Nikon 105mm f2.5 Ais

There are definitely a couple of fuji lenses coming down end of the year/next year that are on my radar, although the wallet is currently empty lol

Hmmm I should have said something about posting something interesting about the lenses if you have a particular reason for having them. Some great stuff listed.

Hassy extension tubes... I gotta get me some of them. There were a couple people with them at "The Big One" that were priced titularly reflective. And there was the guy that wanted 500 big ones for the Hasselblad 40mm - non coated.

i got my tubes as part of a package deal with a bunch of backs and other stuff. the 150mm with the two tubes on it kicks the 120mm macro's ass. just way sharper and way more compression. great for copy work and macro work. also 500 for a 40mm isnt too bad but i still wouldnt bother with any of the 40 or 50mm unles the are at least the CF CFi or CFi FLD lenses. they have way too much distortion and far harder to focus properly. plus they flare like mad without the T* coating.

Cool. Interesting info about the 150 and the tubes. I should probably grab a 150 at some point because I like using the blad for portraits. Yeah, $500 would have been fine if it were a T* like you say but alas it was not. I'd probably get a 50 for it before a 40 anyway. Not for a while though, a UWA and some primes are up next for the DSLR.

My first SLR that I had access to was my mom's Nikon FE, so Nikon felt like a natural fit to me when I shopped for my first DSLR. I've bought and sold a lot of lenses to get to where I am now. I've almost entirely dropped zoom lenses due to the size of the excellent ones, hence the amount of primes...

Nikon 20 f2.8 AF-D - Fairly wide (but not extreme wide) on full frame
Nikon 35 f2 AF-D - My go to lens on crop bodies, and still used quite often on full frame
Nikon 50 f1.4 AF-D - My go to lens on full frame. This or the 35 pretty much live on my camera
Nikon 50 f1.8 AF-D - Not really used anymore.... was replaced late last year by the 1.4
Nikon 50 f1.8 E - Came free with an old FG consumer body. More useful as a body cap then a lens; it pretty much disappears on modern DSLRs
Nikon 105 f1.8 AI - Great medium telephoto for portraits, landscapes, and anything that doesn't move very quickly
Nikon 180 f2.8 AF-D - Poor man's 70-200 replacement. Compact and great IQ. AF is good enough for what I shoot
Nikon 200 f4 AF-D Micro - Best macro lens I've ever used, and also great as a telephoto for portraits and landscapes
Nikon 18-70 DX - Used to be my vacation lens but I've since picked up a NEX body for vacation

Leica 35 f2.5 Summarit - Leica build and IQ, but I didn't need to give up a limb to get it. Amazing focal length for street and travel photography. Pretty much lives on my rangefinder
Zeiss 50 1.5 ZM C-Sonnar - Great IQ and compact. Annoyingly has aperture marks in 1/3rd stops, unlike all of my other film lenses... thankfully B&W film is forgiving

Hasselblad/Zeiss 50 f4 CF - These CF lenses are built like tanks... Roughly equivalent to 28-35 on 6x6, I barely use this lens on MF. Makes a fun tilt/shift landscape/macro lens on Nikon with the below adapter
Hasselblad/Zeiss 80 f2.8 CF - My go to lens on MF. It does portraits, street, landscapes, everything.
Hasselblad/Zeiss 160 f4.8 CB - Great medium telephoto. Originally marketed as Hasselblad's "Basic" or " Budget" line, the build quality is equal to the CFe /CFi stuff from the 90s and is a fantastic value. Kind of slow
Hasselblad-->Nikon Tilt/shift adapter - Kind of klunky compared to genuine tilt-shift lenses, but fairly capable

Schneider-Kreuznach 135 f5.6 Componon - My one and only LF lens... haven't used it all that much but the quality of 4x5 negs is amazing. Going to use it for a series on a road trip later this summer

I'll play...mah lenses, restated:
I've been a canon shooter pretty much my whole life (although I did learn how to shoot on a Konica) so Canon is my mount...

Canon EF 50 F1.2L USM - was the greatest portrait lens on my 1.3 crop 1D mkIV...now that I've gone full frame, I find the 70-200 makes nicer portraits...still good for low light and sliver dof shots

Canon EF 100 F2.8L IS USM Macro - best macro lens out there for canon - the hybrid IS is amazing, especially when combined with extension tubes and hand held shots

Canon EF 300 F4L IS USM - for the size, weight and cost, this tele is awesome...and the bokeh is spectacular

Canon EF 24-70 F2.8L II USM - versatile walk around travel lens...on a ff I find I don't need any wider...

Canon EF 70-200 F2.8L IS II USM - sharpest lens I've ever used...before I went ff, I rarely used this focal range...in fact, my ole 70-200 had been 1500kms away for over a year before I bought this one...but now its my default walk around focal range and lens

Canon EF 70-200 F4L IS USM - small, light, easily packed and lugged around...the f4 doesn't give the greatest bokeh, but it was my first L lens so I'll never let it go.

Sigma AF 150-500 F5-6.3 OS APO HSM DG - at f8 is a very capable long tele zoom...and dirt cheap at under $1300 new...under f8 and its sh!t...but it costs 1/10th the cost of the canon 200-400...and its small enough to put in a back pack and take traveling

Sigma AF 8mm F3.5 EX DG Circular Fisheye - very capable fisheye...I've just found it extremely hard to find situations where I want to use a fisheye...so it sits in my bag for most of the time..

Lensbaby 2.0 50 F2 - single point of focus is a cool concept, but since its manual focus and my eyes are currently sh!t, this lens too sits...

M42:

Vivitar 200 3.5 (Komine) - first prime (besides Canon 50 1.8 Mk1 metal mount) - really like the long throw for focus
Vivitar Series 1 70-210 3.5 Macro (Kiron) - first big glass, touch focus interesting.
Vivitar 55 2.8 Macro (Komine) - first 1:1 macro. Nice lens.
Auto Sears Macro 55mm 2.8 - 2nd 1:1 macro. Wanted something to maybe replace the Vivitar 55.
Tair-3 4,5/300A (1973) - first really big glass. My god she's a beauty!

Pentax K mount automatic lens

Sigma 17-70 f/2.8-4 Macro - first automatic lens for my Pentax body. Didn't know how to set it to auto at first.
Good range plus no reported motor failures unlike Pentax 16-40 4 lens.
Tamron 17-50 2.8 - loved this lens on old 40D. Still love it on Pentax. Constant 2.8 and macro in a pinch
Tamron 18-200 3.5-6.3 macro - need a general walkabout lens

Pentax K A mount manual lens (auto aperture enabled)

Lester Dine (Kiron) 105mm 2.8 Macro - when they say legendary, they mean legendary. Beautiful lens far surpasses my photography skills
Sigma 50 2.8 Macro - Nice long throw focus and nice bokeh.
Sears 135mm 2.8 Macro - cheap but surprisingly sharp, macro feature not really a macro, but does wonders for a "glowing" effect.
Vivitar 105 2.5 Macro - at the shop
Sears 28 2.8 Macro - being delivered
SMC Pentax-A 35-105 3.5 Macro - lives up to it's name of "stack of primes"

I have the lenses I do because I just recently switched to Fujifilm and had to start rebuilding my collection. Plus the initial fuji lineup was limiting, but getting much better.

The 55-200mm f3.5-4.8 - I originally had the idea of shooting only with primes, and that held for close to a year now, except I missed having a long tele and the 105mm just isn't long enough at times - or short enough. Plus manual focus can be really slow (although with the upcoming firmware and thr addition of focus peaking may change that). So with that said I broke down and got the telephoto zoom. It did break with my prime only desire, but I'll have to say I don't regret it for a minute for the shots I would have missed without it.

The Nikon 105mm f2.5 was bought used to have some sort of telephoto lens for those time I needed the reach. It's a great lens and with focus peaking coming it may get rotation back into my bag replacing the zoom at times.

The Rokinon 8mm f2.8 Fisheye is just a fun lens. I had a fisheye lens with my Nikon (ok it belong to my brother but I had pretty much permenant loan of it). While there are only some unique or rare opportunities to really make use of this lens, when they do arise I'm so glad I have it with me.

J.

In chronological order of purchasing.

Nikon:
70-200mm f/2.8 VR II AF-S
Picked this lens up when I bought my first camera, the D700. Got into photography because of sports and knew this would be the lens I probably use the most for my specific purposes.

24-70mm f/2.8 AF-S
A couple of months after picking up a camera, my wife and I went to Spain and I knew that I wasn't going to lug the 70-200mm around everywhere, so went with something a little smaller, although it isn't much lighter. In the end I purchased this lens and still brought both.

14-24mm f/2.8 AF-S
Got my car serviced at the Toyota dealership near Queen and Broadview. While waiting I always head over to Prohibition bar and have a couple of pints. Turns out the dealership calls two hours later telling me the car is going to be two hours late. So I grab another four pints, call the wife telling her she needs to drive the car home and walk over to Vistek. Decided at that moment I needed the trifecta without a purpose for a wide angle at that time.

105mm f/2.8 AF-S Macro
At this point I belonged to pwocontests.com and dpchallenge.com, online photography challenge websites and a macro challenge came through the pipe. Decided it was time to pick up a macro lens, so I did.

50mm f/1.4 AF-D
Really started enjoying street photography and using the 24-70mm was becoming unfeasible. Was simply too heavy a lens for mobility without a bag. Grabbed this lens to make the camera much lighter.

Panasonic
20mm f/1.7 ASPH
After I realized street was my preferred style of photography, decided to pick up an Olympus OM-D E-M5 and bought this lens with it. Prefer short focal lens for street because getting right up to people, IMO, is what makes the photos. It's that reaction I'm after.

Olympus
45mm f/1.8
Was going on a trip and didn't want to bring my Nikon so I picked up this lens and the one below it. Don't get me wrong, there were a number of shots I couldn't take because I didn't have the functionality of my D700, but saving on space and weight were more important this trip.

Aside from all the Nikon stuff I no longer use -

Canon 70-200L IS USM II - my first Canon lens. Wanted to go with the best so I wouldn't have to buy it twice. Absolutely no regrets. Wished I did the same thing when I bought my tripod on impulse shopping. Use it 95% of the time.

Canon 17-40L - Bought it with the expectation that I would buy another cropped sensor camera to fill in the missing 40 - 70 range. That's another reason for my new EOS-M.

Canon 2X - makes my 70 - 200 reach 400. Wished I had bought the best tripod in the first place so now I'll have to buy it twice. Anyone want to trade their Gitzo for my Vanguard?

Extension tubes.

Oh - how can I forget - the new EF-M 18-55mm f/3.5-5.6 IS STM Lens for the EOS-M, the walk around lens which is supposed to be delivered today.

Oh man.... I have to explain?

Yes. You especially. :P

Nikon 18-135mm f/3.5-5.6 - 2nd row right:
The kit lens. I like the range, but it is kinda slow. It does come out on occasion -- usually for inclement weather. It's not weatherproof by any means; it's so that I don't have to keep changing lenses. Completely replaced by the Tamron 17-50 f/2.8.

Sigma 12-24mm f/3.5-5.6 - 2nd row left:
The first other lens I really wanted was a wide angle. I looked into all of the wide offerings available at the time. When it finally came time to pull the trigger a year later, I had already got my first Nikon film body, so the only full frame choice in my price range was this one.

Sigma 180mm f/3.5 Macro - 3rd row left:
If anyone were to ask me what macro lens to get first, I would still suggest a more versatile one of the ~100mm range. However, if you really like getting things close in a more walkabout fashion, you can't beat the usable working distance of the longer macro lens. They say 200mm is ideal, but I don't think the Nikon is 1:1 (and the Nikon is pretty old). I was hoping the HSM would make it a decent telephoto, but the AF is just not "smart" enough. The aperture ring also makes this compatible with my FE2. They don't make this one any more -- you'll have to get the Sigma 150mm with OS.

I have the Nikon 200 and it is 1:1. The biggest downside is the fact that it is f4. It may be old, yes, but I think that is a good thing; the build quality from that era (mid-late 90s I think?) is exceptional. It is rather difficult to use handheld for anything but faraway subjects though.

Canon 35mm F/1.4 is my most used lens, and my fave lens. Don't know why, but I've enjoyed using this on full frame for years. It was my first L lens purchase.

Canon MP-E 65mm macro. I grew up catching and studying insects and small creatures, enjoying the large photos in my animal Funk & Wagnells encyclopedia. This lens is difficult to use well, and frustrating to own, but when an image is caught well it is hugely rewarding. This lens makes me feel like a kid again.

Canon 100-400mm. I recently picked this up as I dream of the 500mm F/4, but cannot justify the expense (yet). Haven't had a chance to really try and capture some serious photos with this lens yet, but hope to over the next couple of months. The zoom takes a bit of getting used to but the IS is pretty decent, all things considered. Slightly stopped down I am quite pleased at the sharpness and IQ of this lens.

I have others, but these 3 are top of mind.
