Just got my 5DMIII with 24-105 L lens. I’m extremely happy.
A lot of new features for me here and long way to learn.
For education purpose, I’m just wonder if it is here any chance to see (on picture) where was AF points and what was a distance. Let me be clearer. I did try different options with AF selection mode from single point to 61-point auto selection mode. Also I did try different zone/point positions.
Now when I analyzing my pictures I like to know which points was selected (where on picture) and what was the distance. I’m not sure if it is possible.
Thx in advance

You want to be able to see this?

I have not done this myself but I think it is done with the Canon software. That'd be the place to look. For the second point I'm not sure I understand, you want to know the subject distance? That is recorded in the EXIF data.

I have AF point on screen enabled (the setting is called something like that, Im too lazy to go check :) ) mostly because I like to confirm that I actually had the single point focus on the eye. This helped me a lot to better understand my mistakes and helped me to get acquinted with understanding focus shift. Can't tell you how many shots Ive had with my 50L where the focus point was visibly on the closest eye, but the actual point of focus was way off. It does get kinda annoying after a while though

Both answers are correct. You can see the focus point on camera LCD display and the bundled Canon Digital Photo Professional (DPP) software will display it on your monitor.
