Since getting an Olympus OM-D, I've stopped using my dSLRs!
I'm not there yet, but my OM-D gets used the vast majority of the time. Street is what I primarily shoot, so it's much better than carrying the D700 around.

I won't say second camera but more alternate when DSLRs are inconvenient. Canon G12 or in a pinch my iPhone 5. Otherwise 2nd and 3rd camera are other DSLRs as i hate lens changing.

We use LX3 as second camera. Currenly looking on replacement. Deciding bettwen Sony-RX100 and Canon S100/110. Any opinion ? My wife will be using for 50%, so I'm leaning towards canon as it is cheaper and I see that the trusty LX3 is getting lots of abuse :).
Main main DSLR is canon as well.

My secondary Camera is the Sony HX10V. I use it when I don't feel like lugging around my Rebel t2i.

I have a D600 and for a time kept my D300 as backup. Then I swapped the D300 and 12-24 lens for a 17-35 f/2.8 and I'm back to one body.

That said, I have two backups: a little Nikon P&S (S6000) that I picked up refurbished at Nikon when I was in getting my D600 Ddusted, and, surprised only one person mentioned it, my iPhone.

FWIW, three of the pictures I'm exhibiting at the end of May in Haliburton are from the P&S. Not bad for $60...

I've been using a Canon S90 as my back-up/quick snap shot camera, but I am seriously considering the new Canon SL1/100D.
I like the idea of being able to use my current lens line-up on it, and I think the 1.6 crop might come in handy in some situations.
Plus its tiny enough that I might be able to convince the wife to carry it around with us...
...might.

My second camera is my cell phone SGS3 - the camera actually seems better than my canon P&S from a few years back.

I really want the Sony RX100 but can't rationalize the price

Nikon D5100 is not too big, it has high IQ, and it is less expensive than some pocket cameras.
Put on it a 35mm/1.8 lens and 70-200mm on your other camera and you are set.

My Canon G12 is the camera that goes everywhere with me. It's small enough to just dump in the backpack but with loads of control.

Panasonic LX5. Good size and decent glass for a P&S, when I'm not eager to lug the big boy around.

I'm with jordanfaust and am thinking of selling my DSLR gear Canons and only go with the Fuji X rigs. I do love the X100s, a perfect little camera.

My Ricoh GXR with M module creates images which are as good as my 60D. I'm carrying that around a lot more now, even though it's manual focus.

Canon 5D Mark 3 and my Nikon FM2 with 50mm f1.4 ;) I love Canon, but I just can't let go of the FM2 for its shutter feel...
