Hi Guys,

Do you know of a free video files format conversion software?
I need to convert to MP4 (hope this is the correct format) some video shot with a cell phone.

Thank you for your help.

I have a similar problem all the free software seems to down grade results quality then sucks. What I ended up doing is dumping it into widows live movie maker and then uploading it to my device in the correct format. Another way is to upload it to youtube and then downloading from Youtube in mp4 at the desired resolution. Youtube seems to do the conversion in a nearly lose less quality way.

Try Freemake Video Converter. It pretty much converts most video/audio formats to whatever you want. It's Freeware but pretty powerful.

I use Handbrake for all of my transcoding needs. It will convert to .mp4 and has presets for a lot of resolutions and profiles. I mainly use it for transcoding ripped DVDs, but it should work with your cell phone video. If offers a lot of features and options found in the insanely expensive transcoding software I use at work

I use Prism - it's not free but it's cheap and fantastic... maybe $20? I can't remember anymore :)
