The real question is what is going on with Fuji batteries. I wanted to order an couple of new batteries since my old extra from the X100 died and they seem to be out of stock at most places I checked. Well except in Toronto where they are more than double the US price.

I ordered a couple of pearstone batteries for my xpro1 from B&H (back when I got my camera, even with shipping etc. it was worth the price) a quarter of the price of thr fuji's here and work just as well. If I knew you had an x100s and needed batteries I could have picked some up for you from B&H. I was in NYC last week and stopped by the store to check it out.

The battery died on the weekend. I had two until then so I wasn't in the market. But I don't like going with only one battery.

Right now B&H, Adorama and Hunt's are all on back order/out of stock on the Fuji batteries for the X100 and the X-Pro and even the after market batteries at Adorama are out of stock although B&H seems to have the Pearstones in stock.

The mystery deepens. The Pearstone for the X100S are now discontinued at B&H. In fact the only battery that seems to be in stock at B&H is something called a Power2000. Adorama sells these as well, but are out of stock. Oddly they are $19 at Adorama, but B&H has them listed as $10.

Weird - the x-pro1 pearstone is also discontinued - but they have another brand for sale - called Watson - same price but with less mAh then the pearstone and even the fuji branded. That is weird.

Well as far as I am concerned any third party battery from a respectable photography store is fine. b&H wouldn't sell junk - like you can fine sometimes on ebay. So regardless of the brand I think you will be fine from either B&H or Adorama.

Never posted here (from what I can tell) but Zack had put up a few weeks ago a follow-up review of the fujifilm x100s (he also talks about the x-cameras in general as well). He's pretty much ditched his DSLR and shoots fujifilm or his Phase MF camera.

The 27mm is in! and it is damn sharp! odd not having an aperture ring though.... over all a nice 41mm equivalent lens and its also tiny. smaller then the 18mm.

Its the mini x-series camera. same quality of pictures etc, in a smaller and just slightly lighter camera. I like using/having a viewfinder so it would be hard to use this constantly with just the screen. But with that said - you are still getting the same great quality and you can buy the nice fuji lenses :-)

I'd say its what the Canon EOS M should have been in the first place.

Apparently fujifilm Canada held a BBQ today in Mississauga. I need to check my email and see where my invite went!! But no matter I am in Newfoundland right now. But this is really cool idea and something I never hear other camera manufactures doing.

It was invite only, you had to message The Fuji Guys to get the invite.

I had an invite but was unable to reach it on time... shame as I would have liked the goodie bag and a chance of winning some things. haha

Pretty neat of them to hold such an event, Fuji is showing the big guys how to do customer relations properly.

And I'm stuck in Kingston tonight! I'll have to wait until tomorrow night before I can install and try out!!

Oh I should add that Fuji has updated the lens roadmap and added a more consumer oriented telephoto lens - 50-230mm f4.5-6.7. It is scheduled to come out around the same time as the 23mm f1.4

Finally got my camera and lenses upgraded to the latest firmwares. I just did a quick test but the lenses definitely have a slightly snapper focus to them, and were locking on areas that I'd normally have more trouble with. Focus peaking is pretty cool. While I only tried it briefly, it was easier to see then I thought it would be (based on what I was reading by some people on different forums). Maybe not as good as Sony's implementation, but I'm quite pleased with it so far.

All I need is my minimum shutter speed in auto ISO update and I'd be a really happy camper :)

For those of you with a x100 - there are several rumours floating around that there will be an extensive firmware update at the end of August giving quite a few of the new or improved features found in the x100s.

Seems as if Henry's just received a x100s shipment. Just received a call, but had to cancel mine as I went and got the xpro-1.

Finally got tired of working hard to get good fill flash portraits in bright/direct sunlight with my OMD. So, I decided to replace at least the 17/1.8 Lens with the X100s. It's Leaf shutter + ND filter ROCKS for HSS!

Well one - it's only rumoured - there was no official announcement that I heard of. And second - it's not the end of the month just yet.
