I need a bag that will hold a TLR + a compartment for a portfolio (9x13) or a laptop 13". Prefer a shoulder bag that looks classic, not crumpler. Oh. and doesn't cost an arm and a leg, I can't afford to lose either at this point. Weather resistant is also preferred.

I actually fell victim to the black friday craze and ordered a Timbuk2 from B&H. Saved quite a bit, not sure how well it's made until it comes.

I was going to suggest the Timbuk2 bags. Which one did you order? I am going to order the Snoop in medium. I checked out the small at Henry's and it was too small.

Actually ordered a small. What did you plan on putting in it? It seemed about right for a TLR + laptop

Depending on the Timbuk2 model, all 3 or 4 of mine are well made. However having previously worked in a bike store I've gravitated towards the courier style bags. MEC has insane sales on Timbuk2 bags. i.e. I picked one up for 75% off.

Most of the time a couple of small cameras and extra lenses, but I wanted to be able to use if occasionally to carry a Mac Book. I was quite prepared to buy the small and checked it out at Henry's, but it just felt too small. According to the Timbuk2 site the Mac Book would fit for width but not height in the small. Henry's does not sell the medium.

Kelly Moore bags are fantastic, but a bit on the pricy side.

Another vote for the Think Tank Retrospective line, not waterproof but it's pretty water resistant and comes with a rain cover if it's really pouring out
