Ya but part of the idea of mirrorless is not just a small body, but smaller lenses to go with it. That smaller body will only reduce the size and weight by a small amount when you start attaching professional grade lenses to it.

I don't know - there's a pretty significant weight difference between the 1Dx and this little 100D...
I could see me running around with it and the 50L no problemo...it might even fit in my hoodie pocket...the 1D...not so much.

It seems to be very much touted, but no-one has compared it to the 100-400IS-L. Which is F4-5.6, so only one stop slower at the far end, but is even greater reach. I can't see spending 5x as much for it at this point.

hmm..

With the built in extender, its really a 200-560 F4-5.6...so its got a bit more reach on the far end compared to the 100-400L...I have a feeling that they will announce a 100-400L II once the 200-400 starts selling. I could see it being in the $3,000 range with better optics and IS than the mark I. That being said, I'm having a hard time with the price of the 200-400 as well...I can get a 500F4L IS II for over $3k less at this point...

Well, really it is a 200-400 in one smooth movement, then it's a 280-540 after taking your eyes off the subject and flicking the TC switch.
vs the 100-400 is a true 100-400 where you can zoom through the entire range as the subject moves, then by adding the 1.4xTC, it becomes a 140-540. Again, lots more flexibility, still have L glass and only 1 stop difference. I'm hard pressed to justify the 5x price difference.

I'm with you on the price...I'm considering waiting until they announce the 100-400L II just to compare the two...

PS...I've got the sigma 150-500 OS and to be honest, for an amateur wildlife photographer, it works just fine. At f8 the lens is as sharp or sharper than my 300L IS with 1.4xII attached. With these newer cameras, f8 is no longer a problem as ISO can be bumped up to compensate...
...and it costs just north of a grand...or ONE TENTH the price of the 200-400L...

I'm actually seriously considering just buying an SL1 as a second body...for those times I don't want to lug around a 1d...its pratically as small as a mirrorless or G series...but then I get to use my L lenses...and then I could just stick my 300F4L +/- my 1.4x on it and use it as a second camera when I'm out looking for wildlife...
that'll get me 672 equivalent mm's vs my 1d's 420mm...heck the 150-500 becomes a 240-800 on a 1.6 crop...

So, Henry's doesn't have 5D3 bodies in stock chain wide according to the new Burlington location. Thoughts? Is the inventory being pulled for Exposure? What's the dealie Yo? I'm still in the process of poking other GTA retailers...
