Just thought I'd share for those looking for an inexpensive printer and consumables for printing 8x10's at home.

A few months ago I bought the Brother MFC-J430w printer - This printer is regularly $99 but frequently goes on sale for $50. Then I bought ink cartridges (compatibles) on ebay - 10 cartridges for ~$19 (plus free/fast shipping). You can also also buy the 40 pack of cartridges for ~$50. I have made many prints from this set up and the I have the found the quality of the prints to be very good. I used to use a CIS (Continuous Ink System) with my Epson printer but it was messy and often clogged up making it very frustrating.

So there you go - definitely worth a try imho.

Note: This is just the printer I decided to buy for my needs but there are several other Brother printers that use the same family of ink cartridges. Oh and one tip for printing on photo paper - as it states in the manual always load at least 2 sheets of photo paper in the tray so it feeds properly. Normally I put in at least ten sheets and when I'm done printing photos I take the extras out.
