So the autofocus on my Canon EF 50mm f/1.4 died last night. It's old, got it used and I understand this is not an uncommon thing for this lens. Where's the best/fastest/cheapest place to get this repaired? I've emailed Toronto Camera Service but their site says nothing about fixing lenses, just cameras. I am assuming that repairs will be cheaper than getting one new - just need to figure out who has the quickest turnaround time. Suggestions?

You can still go back to Canon or Sun camera service. They'll fix out of warranty stuffs, you just have to paid them.

I was there a few days ago. They fix lenses as well. Calibrate etc.

well, took it apart, moved some stuff around, reassembled it and now the AF works again. Looks like I saved a couple hundred bucks?

Good to know there's a decent, non-Canon/Mississauga repair option downtown, though
