Hey,

I have a CF card that's not letting me upload the images I've shot (173 CR2 files). I've searched the forum for previous suggestions and found a few, though none were actually Mac compatible and free (I downloaded Card Rescue and it found the photos, but it wanted me to buy the software before I could save them). I'm super broke so free (or under $20) is a must. Anyone have any suggestions? My internet searches haven't turned up anything useful.

Thanks!

What make is your CF card?

Most CF cards are shipped with software or instructions to download software that can be used to recover data from the cards.

It's a Photo Dimensions card. I don't usually use this brand.. my father purchased it when he borrowed my camera in January. I don't have the papers that would have come with it.

I use PhotoRec with TestDisc (get it here), they're command line utilities, but they work LIKE A CHARM - i once recovered over 800 photos from a 8gb card (i only wanted 10 of them, but that's besides the point).

I also got ddrescue (a guy i know swears by it) but i never tried it myself.

both of these are free command line apps, both compatible with mac.
so unless you can't live without a pretty gui, these are great solutions.

The software on the Lexar page was just updates and it usually costs money, but I managed to find a link to a page that provided the software for free! Hurrah! http://store.lexar.com/imagerescue3/index.cfm I recovered all of my lost photos!!!!!!!!

Thanks SO much for your help!!
