Hey everyone, I came across this today on Amazon and its $90 USD

not bad for brand new... considering if comes with 2700mAh batts. Probably crappy batts but it'll do the job

I'd be more concerned about the 3rd party that's selling them. They have some history under different names, and have had customer ratings of 2.35 out of 10 on resellerratings.com

Also, you have to wonder if these are new flashes or used ones, as they haven't been made in a long time (unless they are being made by another company under the Vivitar name).

I own three used 285HVs, and have paid from $20 (missing the battery holder) up to $50 (that included the high voltage power supply). Although I did see someone selling one for $130 at the last camera fair (OK, it did include a leather pouch and all the filters).

Even though it's through Amazon, I would just as well prefer to deal at the camera fairs (next one coming up Jan24th).
