Wonder how they managed to do that though they forgot about the strap!

Is this for stealth recon missions?

What if the photographer/soldier puts it in green box/auto mode and the pop up flash comes up and gets sniped/mortar/RPG'd?

I don't know if that's a good idea or not...you'll think nobody else is there!

But don't you think it's kinda silly for them not to have a camo strap too? Or does the manufacturer give them the cameras under the stipulation they have to use the OEM strap and not modify it because they have to advertise that brand?

Getting a 3rd party strap was one of the first things I do when I buy a new camera as the OEMs are not usually that comfortable; in fact I've never used an OEM strap on any camera I bought, and that goes back over 30 years!

Well ..... she is exactly shooting in the field in that picture so we really don't know if she has the neck strap on or not.

also anyone who knows the military would know that she isn't actually a soldier as her hair would be in a perfect bun like in the second photo. my girlfriend was and knows that you never can have your hair down like that. plus it says press so she is most likely just a journalist and like the common journalists shown in vietnam movies and such, she isn't a very good impersonator of military personnel.
on a final note it is still impressive that it is soo seamless. I've only seen the lens wraps before. nothing quite that crazy

You would still get glint off of the lens in strong sun would you not? Wouldn't that defeat the whole point of the camo.

It wouldn't defeat the purpose when the camera isn't in use. Odds are that an embedded journo is going to be heads-down when the bullets start to fly.

In the photo from the OP, the photographer is a US Marine Corps Corporal (look at the rank insignia on the collar), though the photographer is part of the military press (some Marine Corps newspaper?). The press pass says "Air Show".

The 2nd photo also looks to be USMC.

There's dress uniform, and then there are field considerations.
Also, there are laws prohibiting impersonation of military personnel.

Well impersonating may be the wrong word. She is at the air show(I can read that off the press pass arous her neck) and it is most likely a "costume" of sorts that she wanted to wear to "blend in" perhaps.

You guys are taking this all too seriously. Some people just like to paint things camo.
