There seems to be a battery drain problem with my G1. Should I take out one of the batteries if I'm not using it? It went through a set of batteries in a month and I didn't even use it much. The batteries that died was a Panasonic CR2 Lithium and a Energizer CR2 Lithium. Should I use batteries of the same brand? It's suggested in the manual but it's kinda mind-boggling that they drained so quickly. I've only shot 1 roll of film too. The previous owner had no problems with it so I suspect it's something I'm doing wrong.

i've owned two g1and one g2 so far, never had a problem with mines though

although i heard there are some issues regarding battery drain.

one thing I've noticed when I had my g1 is that when I left its power on and put it in my bag, shutter button often gets pushed as it rolls around in a bag resulting in AF to work and drain out the battery.

make sure u turn off the switch.

Taken from RFF.

Try this, listen to the camera when you screw the battery cover back onto the base with the batteries inserted. Mine makes a slight noise every time the battery cover connects to the base plate. In other words it is completing a circuit. Probably means the switch is toast.

I tried the test with new batteries of the same brand and the camera does make a slight noise when I screw in the battery cover. So.. what does this entail?

So I think that I just left my camera on a couple times and drained the battery out.

I'm thinking of selling this camera though.. anyone interested? lol
