Has anyone had experience with having their lenses serviced - it's a known problem with this lens, I would like to have it fixed, but if the problem recurs (or it costs $$$ to have it repaired) I may just keep the paperweight...

Also, is there a service centre in toronto (I recall Nikon having offices in Mississauga)

Nikon's service centre is located in Mississauga, or you could take it to Toronto Camera Repair Centre on Jefferson in the liberty village area.
