Storm Cases are excellent! I took 4 of them up to Iqaluit with me full of lighting gear.. and they stood up to the airline, and our abuse putting them on and off the truck from the airport.

+1 on the Storm. They're built just as solid as the Pelican versions but at a fraction of the cost. UBER durable but they are hefty. ThinkTank makes some really rugged rolling cases as well and they have a built in cable cord locking system to secure it.

It's not a "hard" case but I love my ThinkTank International V2. Here is a shot when I picked it up around this time last year.

Another vote for ThinkTank - I have the Airport International - it's solid and I love the fact that it's got a built in cable lock.

Holds 2 D700's with grip, 70-200, 24-70, 17-35, 2 x SB900's, etc. etc. etc.

Great case and well worth the $300+ price tag.

Cheers,
Dave

If you're going on a plane, how do you stuff so much gear, and the have space for the on-the-plane essentials?

I can rarely find space for my carry-ons.

Most aircraft will allow for a small bag - like a satchel - like one of those MEC Carry All's for example.

I've never had issue with the gear (in the Think Tank) and things like my passport and such in the Mec Carry All.

Cheers,
Dave

The last few flights I've taken, the camera gear went on as carry on, and I had a second bag like a cary-all as mentioned. I never had a problem.

This looks similar to Lowepro's Computrekker - is there anything that sets the Think Tank apart? I'm selling a Compu Trekker Plus AW right now (shameless plug) and am curious where it falls on the food chain.

Is the Thinktank a roller?

Cheers,

Mike

I agree with the consensus here, the ThinkTank rollers are by far my favourite. I've traveled /w both my TT Airport Security v2 and pelican 1514 case...

I prefer the TT as it is lighter and looks more covert.

Care to share a pic of the carry-all bag? I will be travelling to HK (again) in January or end of December.

BTW, anyone need anything from HK?
