sigma makes a decent 70-200 f/2.8 but there's no image/optical stabiliazation. Nothing on the market does what the 70-200 f/2.8L IS does. Sorry.

Had a Sigma 70-200 for quite a while until I sold it for a Canon 70-200 F2.8 IS.

I can't remember which way was which, but the Sigma may have had a slightly warmer colour compared to the Canon. Build quality isn't like Canon but if you're not beating up the lens, you shouldn't have any issues with the Sigma. I have noticed that the paint on the Sigma is prone to scuffing and coming off over time, but that's cosmetic and expected for this lens (unless they changed their paint formula). Images were pretty sharp from end-to-end and wide open.

Focus speed, it's about the same as the Canon's... I couldn't see the difference when I compared the two back-to-back.

Unfortunately, Sigma doesn't have a 70-200 with their OS (optical stabilizer) though in the end, it's a pretty good performer considering the price of the lens.
