I'm new to SLR ;) Been taking tens of thousands of pictures with my P&S over the years. I have a microscope with the camera adaptor and step-rings to work with my Sony DSC-W7. After seeing the clarity of what the Rebel can do and the amazing detail you can see through a microscope, is there a macro lens that I can use? I believe it's a 28 or 30mm mount on the microscope. The microscope has a C-mount to attach cameras.

No clue but I'd thought I'd respond so you weren't lonely waiting for a reply. :)

Does your microscope have a T-mount? Those are what's usually used to attach a camera (not to mention to attach a camera to a telescope, as well as some other long reaching lenses).

Unfortunately I don't have a Canon T-mount adaptor in my collection.

If the store above doesn't have them (which is hard to believe) you can get them on eBay, as well as larger camera stores.

There are c-mount adapters for most camera mounts. For Canon, you can get a c-mount to M42 mounter microscope adapter, and then a c-mount to EOS mount. In the picture below, the middle adapter is a c-mount to M42 mount microscope adapter. On the left is the Canon FD to c-mount adapter. On the right, well, I don't know what mount it is :)

Thanks for the replys. Found one! I originally purchased this trinocular microscope from eBay. I just did a search for canon microscope and voila! Now time to get a telescope that can take 23.2mm widefield lenses. The ebay vendor was from Kitchener, Ontario. It can also be purchased from www.microscopenet.com.

Amazing what the human eye cannot see, and the amazing detail you can see under the microscope. The lens adaptor for the canon (it can fit in the eye piece), my setup and a picture of a fresh-water water flea or cyclops, about 0.5mm in size and a close up of a purple flower petal at about 200x magnification.

Now I just need to play around with exposure settings to get some nice crisp pictures. This is my 3rd week owning my first DSLR camera, already taken almost 2000 pictures!
