OK, so this week I found some unbelievable deals and wanted to share!

I started with the following
Sigma 30 1.4
Tamron 17-50

I sold both of those for $870

I then purchased the following four lenses for a total of $1,100 (seperate deals)

Canon 28-70 L - The star of the lineup
Canon 135 2.8 with Soft Focus
Canon 50mm 1.8II
Tamron 19-35 3.5-4.5

So what do you think?

What were you trying to accomplish? The 17-50 and 30 1.4 are both great lenses.

With a 28-70L, I don't think you'll be using the Tamron 19-35 much.. haha. Though that lens is pretty great for the cost.

the tamron I had seemed a little soft and didn't have the pop of the canon L lens.

I was only OK with the images I got from the Tamron, the sigma was sweet and gave awesome pictures.

But when I took some sample pics of the 28-70, I knew I didn't need the tamron anymore.

Then the other 3 lenses came as a package and I picked them all up...

I know I am missing the wide for my crop sensor.

But I think I have a pretty decent set now...

The Tamron was also not long enough for a walk around lens.

The L will be perfect, just need to start lifting some weights

i personally loved my tamron 17-50mm when i had it but whatever.

crop body + 28-70mm + no wider lens = :? that's a pretty tight shot you're getting, that's for sure.

sell all the other miscellaneous lens and consider getting a canon or sigma 50mm 1.4 and a sigma 10-20mm and you'll be set.

how did you like your 28-70L compare to the tamron 17-50?
I'm thinking of getting the 17-50

i thought you started with the tamron 17-50?!? i've never personally owned or used the 28-70, but i would say that even with the 24-70mm and 24-105mm that i had, you wouldn't notice anything if you never knew how much wider you could go and that's all you had and you'd probably say you loved that range, but as i'm sure you saw, you'd love the jump to the 17mm range on a crop body. when you pick up a 10-20mm or 10-22mm, you'll ask yourself, "why haven't i shot in this range before?!?" you get the drift. anyhow, it's hard to compare the tamron 17-50mm and canon 28-70mm or 24-70mm as the price range is not quite close enough for the 28-70mm and definitely not close enough for the 24-70mm on top of the fact that the ranges only overlap somewhat.

prices and deals aside, i personally would've stuck with your original lens and gotten a 70-200mm sigma/canon whatever and maybe an ultrawide angle and called it a day. definitely know what you're getting before you switch up your entire line of lens. :?
