Certainly. Things aren't too complicated at this stage.

1. I will submit the list of items to the wholesale manager at Maxsaver
2. Wholesale manager will return me the quoted price on all items
3. I will do the calculations necessary to make sure all buyers would not need to pay shipping cost, and at the same time I don't lose/make money
4. I will pm each one of you with the quoted price; usually it's the same as the listed price on their site
5. You pm me back with your OK confirmation
6. Once all is done, I submit my payment to Maxsaver and wait for the items to be shipped
7. We wait then setup a place and time for meet up

ppegg -
As it's out of stock, could I change my HD Digital CLEAR filter for a UV one?

(I already have two of these on my order, this bumps me up to ordering three)

Slight update:

People that ordered the following items:
3 B+W 77mm Kaesemann MRC Circular Polarizer Filter
2 New LVSHI Graduated Gray Resin Filter for Cokin P
1 New NISSIN DI466 Speedlite Flash for Nikon Digital Camera

The Kaesemann CPL is good now, I have secured our units.

The latter two, LVSHI Graduated Gray Resin Filter for Cokin P and NISSIN DI466 Speedlite Flash for Nikon Digital Camera are sold to another reseller before I placed our order. My apologies for the inconvenience.

[Another slight update] I do hope you read this message before you read the PM that I'm about to send to you either tonight or tomorrow morning for order confirmation.

For people that was in the first round of the Group Buy back in September understood this: For some of the items that I'm about to quote you is actually a dollar or two higher than the listed price on their website.

And the reason is this: As a regular customer with Maxsaver, you are forced to pay for regular shipping fees (this is Maxsaver's way of earning a profit on items they sell through their site). These shipping fees are per items, an example: an accessory will be 4 dollars for shipping cost per item and a filter will be 6 dollars per item. Anything bigger will be higher of course.

Therefore the wholesale price they offer me will be slightly higher on some of the items, not all. However, the best part is it'll still be a better price than if you order it individually from Maxsaver.

Here's an example from our order: A flash bounce diffuser is listed at 0.9 USD, with shipping will be 4.90 USD. However, the wholesale cost is 1.90 and that's all you pay.

I need everyone to understand this concept because a buyer from our last group buy thought I was trying to raise the price for my own profit. Which I was not of course :P

By this time everyone should have received (or even replied) my confirmation PM. There are a few people that have not said the OK to me yet, so I will wait til everyone had replied then proceed with the payment.

We are almost there, thank you very much for your patience. :P

so what if you are making a profit? you organize the whole thing, talk to maxsaver, you pay maxsaver upfront, u take the risk of people changing their minds with their orders, seperate the orders, u drive to a location to meet the buyers.. etc..

imo, there's nothing wrong if you make profit with this. and I, personally, am ok with that, as long as it will still save me money, then good enough for me

+1 for me. I totally agree with what Rhommel said. In the end, I'm still saving a fair bit compared to buying it locally or by myself and I'll even feel bad if you actually didn't make any profit to cover your time and efforts spent in organizing this. It only takes a couple bad seeds to ruin it for everyone else... Not like you didn't warn us about a potential change in price well in advance AND the option to bail out if the we didn't like the price.

Exactly. Everyone has to eat. People do have the choice of NOT participating. No one is being forced or tricked into this.

Incorrect and I need to make something very clear here.

People selling things on TPMG for profit is not permitted and is viewed as a commercial business. This has always been the position we had since day one.

We have had several companies inquire with us if they could advertise here, sponsor us with stuff, etc. but TPMG is not setup for that, nor do we have any plans in going down that route as this would be something that would need to be managed ongoing - if we decided to go down this route.

Any questions, feel free to contact any of us organizers vs responding here. Hmmm, I just clicked on the Contact Us on the main page and that got broken somehow... well you know who to contact, me, lxdesign, sue70, etc.

Thanks Tanner for putting us into the right perspective here.

The reason I took the initiative here is really to bring joy (at least on the wallet) to a community that's not for profit. My wife is a photographer and so are many of my friends. Photography (business or hobbies) could be expensive, helping everyone save money is always a good thing.

I'm only waiting for 2 more people to reply. However, to preserve our order priority with Maxsaver, I will submit the payment to secure our items now.

Our next step:
Once I have receive the items (guesstimating end of next week) then I will post everyone's owed money here with conversion rate along with custom/duty.

That's all. Thanks!

[Small Update]

I've gotten a reply from Maxsaver, they have received my payment. However they were waiting for 3 CPL filters to come in and it will be shipping tonight. Therefore, the estimated delivery have been pushed to next week.

Another item that Maxsaver is no longer carrying is the Body and Rear Lens Cap set for Canon cameras: Therefore some people on this order will not receive the body and rear lens cap set.

My apologies for the delay - I hope no one is in a super rush for these items to come in.

[Another Update]
The order had left Hong Kong, and should arrive Canada very soon. It's like safe to say we can meet up next weekend to distribute the goods.

Is everyone still ok with Fairview Mall parking lot - TTC Entrance?
