just wondering if any suggestions as to getting the 7D body only or one of the combos out there...

if you already have lenses there is no point in getting the combo, but if you don't then combo is a good deal provided you can live with the quality of the kit lenses

also..depending on your comfort level... kit lenses are the first to show up on craigslists/kijiji. you may be able to save yourself some money.

If you get a good deal or some kind of discount on a body and kit lens combo, just get it and then sell the kit lens.

A few years ago, I bought my 40D with 28-135 kit lens for 30% off at Dell.com. I sold the kit lens which was worth $450 at the time for $400. So with the discount and sale of the lens, it effectively priced my 40D body around $700 (at a time when they were selling just the body for $1200).
