Anyone know of a place in Canada to buy Canon replacement parts? i.e. lcd window for 5D2 etc.

I know of some places in the US but nothing up here.

Call Canon directly, they can sell you the kit.

I heard Canon outsources their parts to Global Electronics in Mississauga. Not sure how much Canon charges but there are places in the US which seem to be pretty good (uscamera)

5D2 lcd window is about 29$ usd, S90 lcd assembly $50usd

I don't have a need for any replacement parts (yet) but just wondering if Canon canada has outrageous replacement part pricing to the end users like us.

Ok, thought I'd respond to my own thread

Global electronics: I just looked up some 5D2 part numbers:

Shutter assembly $149.61
LCD window $41.69

I guess I'll just go here when needed.

I wouldn't be surprised if they charge at least $150.

Hmm just for kicks:

a 5D2 Sensor replacement part is $1145.95 cdn

$149 for a shutter replacement!?!?! I should've replaced the shutter on my 1Ds MKII myself ... I wonder how much that part costs from them? I paid $450.

haha well you have to remove the sensor to get to it - I don't have the parts catalog for the 1ds mk II but the 1ds mk I shutter is $238

Nice reference to see how much things really cost vs the labor.

Good to know there's an alternative source for Canon parts. I think my camera bodies are out of warranty now. Good to know for the future. Thanks!
