Does a Canon lens purchased through B&H in NYC carry the same one year warranty at Canon service centres in Canada?

I know some of you have purchased glass from there in the past.

I heard yes. Any Canon USA lens will be honoured by Canon Canada. The gray market lens (from Europe or Asia) will not be honoured.

Having purchased a 70-200 IS lens from B&H - their "non-USA" version; and having taken it in to Canon on Dixie Road, I can say that, at the time, they did honour the warranty. This was back in, I believe, 2005 or 2006.

All I took in was a copy of the receipt (a PDF that B&H sent me after a quick call to their customer service line).

even some lens purchased in Asia which carries international warranty can be serviced in Canada.

So a USA lens purchased from B&H is not considered grey market in Canada?
