Hello TLR users ..

I just received from ebay my new Zeiss Ikoflex IIa TLR camera and I have few questions ..

First, please let me know where I can find in Toronto a Old Camera Shop because I need to buy next stuff

- one belt for the body
- the lens cover
- 2 x UV filter for the lenses (what's the size for filters)

- and I need to know about 120mm films.. Which brand are the best films color and b/w?
I don't need super high quality films because I like more the old photos effect with scratches or vignetting.

What's the price for 120mm color or b/w film?

Where I can find a good scanner for 120mm film in Toronto and what's the price for scanning one film?

If you know any tips and tricks about TLR photography .. please let me know because that's my first TLR camera and I'm really interested in use it.

For Light measuring I bought an Zeiss Ikophot Exposure Meter - c1953

I'm interested in old photography and I'm not looking for h/q photos because I have Nikon DSLR camera for h/q photos.

Thank you.

Stefan B

ps: please let me know when you're going outside to take some photos with your TLR cameras because I'd really like to enjoy that and to learn more about film photography.

I use an old Kodak Reflex II TLR from 1947. Find accessories locally is next to impossible, eBay is my main source. To meter I use LightMeter app on my Iphone. Film is very personal, I really like Ektar for color stuff and anything Ilford for B&W, big grain to add to the vintage feel.

I bought an epson v500 for scanning and get my 120 processed at Downtown Camera.

***EDIT***
I get most of film from Freestyle Photographic Supply. Very cheap, but to offset shipping i order big, 20-50 rolls @ a time.

As to which films, most pro-grade 35mm films are available in 120 as well. Just shoot what you know.

I tend to shoot a lot of Provia 100F, Portra 400VC, Tri-X and HP5+ in 120.

Price per roll is usually a bit less than the same film in 35mm (Sadly, Ektar 100 is an exception as it's noticably more expensive in 120 than in 35mm)

thank you guys .. :)

You really don't know any Old Camera Shop in Toronto?
How can I find out the size of the camera lenses to buy the UV filters to protect the lenses for scratches or dirt?

For scanning films all of you use the personal scanners or some of you develop and scan films in specialized centers in the city?

I'm interested because I don't have enough money to buy a scanner and I would like to know where I can develop and scan my future 120mm films :).

Rice4Life can you show me some photos scanned with your epson v500? I'm curious regarding the quality and sharpness of photos scanned.
