Hello folks
I am wondering if the Ipad can be tethered with wire Connecting thru USB of the camera
Note I am not talking about wireless tethering or a laptop being used in between .......

It would be a great if we can connect the Ipad in the field to check the shots.
Which avoids carrying a laptop if the situation requires,
There is certain amount of debate happening in Dpreview ..but no conclusion..

Thanks for your inputs....

Not wireless? Then how do you plug in your camera into the ipad via the sync port? That would be cool!

There is an additional connector which is sold in apple store its called
Apple iPad Camera Connection Kit
With that you can connect a SD card or your camera directly to it .....

At this point, doubt it. More likely that you'd be able to achieve this with an EyeFi card automatically uploading to a service like Flickr or Smugmug and checking things out there.

Wouldn't be quite as immediate as what you're looking for.

Played with one of the iPads yesterday and it was very very sweet... much more usable as a work device than my iphone and the display is great, although for photos, I think I'd worry about color calibration in the view as it doesn't seem to have a lot of options to fine tune, but for looking to see if you generally 'got' the shot for composition and sharpness it would be a great platform. Display really punches the color and contrast.
I won't be giving up my laptop anytime soon, but I wouldn't turn-down one of these if it was given to me.

I played with one last week ..and it was a good experience ..other than the fact, I felt it was a bit heavy than I thought.....I ended up resting it on ma table or lap after some time.......Laptop and ipad are two diff things.. I wouldn't process pics on ipad ...just to be used as an additional LCD .....to my camera....apart from the fact its cool to show pics and browse net ....
cheers

I don't see why not, iphone is already used as tethered unit, no?
