Hi All;

Lately been working on my workflow issues. Specifically I need to get my pictures off of the card directly to my laptop in a big hurry. I found a great product.

http://www.siig.com/ViewProduct.aspx?pn=CE-000042-S2

I bought the reader for $40 CAD

This allows me to copy from compact flash via expresscard 54 slot. Man this thing blazes. My laptop is running Windows 7 and I downloaded the newest drivers from siig and even on the dog slow kingston 133X cards I am getting 25 megs / second :shock: . On an ADATA udma 6 card I get around 35-46 megs per second plus. The caveat being you need an express card port on your laptop.

Nice. I may have to pick one up myself. I like how it sits flush in the express card slot.

For me I use the PCMCIA versions for my older laptop, one for CF, and one all-in-1 that does SM, xD, memory stick, SD, etc. but not CF.

Much less hassle than an external reader, and more reliable too; I've never had a PCMCIA reader "disappear".

dant, I've been looking for exactly the same thing for a while, since my Dell XPS has a useless remote control in the Express Card slot. With that I'd be covered for both CF and SD (integrated into the NB), covering all my cameras.

Where did you pick yours up?

I bought mine from www.greytech.com. Ordered it online and then picked it up. They do not have them in stock anymore but they will order for you.

Thanks. That might make my remote setup a fair bit easier at the track. I hate having a USB card reader hanging off the side of my notebook.

I've been looking for one of these, preferably a cheap one. It doesn't have to be fast, I have the free time.

I've got a PCMCIA (non express) version that doesn't work with my laptop. Someone can have it free as long as I don't have to travel much to pass it on.
