As the title says,
Something thats slim, and not going to break in one week lol.

something between 10 and 12 MP would be great.

I have looked at a few around my budget and heres what I got:

Hi Sirux,

I was helping my Dad to pick one last week. I went about it by taking a look at the reviews on CNET.COM for point and shoots to create a short list. The reviews were actually pretty helpful- and discussed the different compromises on different models.

Unfortunately I left this list at my Dad's place- and I know that the top picks were not exactly compact (he was more worried about the optical zoom capability given that he was using this for a trip)....

But perhaps this might be helpful....
