When you guys get tired of the weight of this lens and convert to the micro 4/3 systems let me know how much you want to sell it for

re:filters. Mostly for peace of mind and maintenance. The hood will protect it from accidental touching or drops (knock on wood!). But what I'm discovering more, is the amount of dust in the air. On photo shoots at places like Pioneer Village, you can see a thin layer of dust on everything. As a result, I'd much rather wipe the surface of a filter than the actual lens itself (i.e. the maintenance aspect of using a filter).

With a good filter like the B+W MRC, you can basically say there's no impact to image quality.. < 1%

This lens, my Oly 18mm and the Leica 100mm APO macro are three lenses that I will never sell. They might not all be my most used lenses but they are not going anywhere :D

Not just the weight but also the price of the latest generation of Canon lenses may push people to the micro 4/3 systems.
