I am considering the S90 and was wondering what SDHC card I should pick up for it. I have a SD-600 with a 1GB and 2GB cards - Sandisk Ultra 2.

I doubt I would need 16GB cards, so say in 8GB or 4GB what would you get?

I am currently using the 4gig Ultra II and III cards with my D90. They have worked flawlessly for me.

Thanks David. Will an Ultra II keep up for video in terms of performance?

S90 only has standard video, not HD. So it has the same video capabilities as your SD600. So what works with it should be adequite for the S90.

I have the Nikon D90... and it works fine with HD video 720P

Thanks for the replies.

Card size aside, I should be fine with Ultra II's then, correct? It doesn't sound like I need to spend $$$ on Extreme III's or beyond.

Let me re-phrase my question. Do you think the Utra II of Sandisk cards will suffice in a S90 from a performance standpoint?

IMHO, Photofast cards offer better bang for the buck (I have both Sandisk and Photofast).

Thanks! Which one would you recommend for the S90?

I never got that comparison, I like Apples, and I like Oranges, so what. :)

Ya I know .... they are the same thing. So, there you have it.... whichever card you choose, it should work just fine with the camera.

Ya agreed. Jamesy, the S90 isn't a really demanding cam when it comes to memory cards, smaller file sizes, smaller buffer and standard def video. IMHO any card class 4 or higher will do. Even if you put a cheapy slow card in there, i can't see shot to shot performance being effected.

Size wise, standard def vid won't take up too much space either, 10mp image raw files as well. Like Lex said, 4 GB ultra II should fit the bill nicely.

I would recommend a class-10 8GB card just in case you need the performance in the future.
