Hi all,

I got this lens from home (Taiwan) about 1.5 years ago and keep finding the photo taken by this lens is very very soft. My friend told me he had the same issue with his and he got it calibrated and the result is amazingly sharp.

Just wondering if any one here know where i can get my Sigma 10-20mm calibrated here in Toronto?

Many Thanks!

Gentec does the warranty work for Sigma. You can probably pay them to get it calibrated. They are located near Warden and 14th.

Does anyone know if they will calibrate and send the lens back on the same day? If yes, I'll send a courier to drop off and pick up for me.

ok....

Their service guy told me it will cost $95 and takes approx. 1 week to 10 days to have it calibrated.

If anyone does goes thru with the calibration, I'd be interested in hearing the results (before vs. after pics) as I also have a Sigma 10-20 which I find a bit soft (I hear it's just part of owning this lens).

one of my friend from UK has the same lens. He found the photo taken with his Sigma 10-20mm is too soft and got his calibrated. Result is great. All his photo taken with that lens is now super sharp.

I think a week to 10 days is accurate. I dropped two lenses off on a Monday and was told they'd be ready by Wednesday. It wasn't until I called on Friday to ask what was going on that the lenses finally made it to a tech's desk and were ready for pickup late that afternoon. They weren't picked up until the next Monday. I've read on POTN that drop-off and pick-up is the fastest you're gonna get.

Edit: They are very nice though! But if you are paying in person it's cash or credit, no debit.
