One thing for certain - memory cards can be expensive

I grabbed a Lexar UDMA card... I guess they've all come out with UDMA6 now... but I don't see it benefitting me.

Faster always helps, but there's also a matter of the "law of diminishing returns".

I find a tremendous speedup even with older cameras like my 1D and 1Ds classic with the Extreme III 30MB/s.

Even tho 30MB/s, 60MB/s or 90MB/s is the max speed, most cameras aren't able to _sustain_ transfers at such speeds, they do burst transfers and this helps.

I use fast cards in one camera (UDMA Lexar's), because I shoot action on occasion with it, the other, which is my everyday camera gets Class 4 SD's, since I never take it out of single-frame advance I get no benefit from buying more than $20 cards
