Budget photography
I know lot of people are getting into photography and want to know how to get started. First I will make it clear this is how I started it does not mean it's right for everyone.
First gear I had Canon SL1 NEW Some generic batteries Kit Lens 1.4 50MM Prime USED Cheap $20 tripod about $850 That was it. If anyone is thinking about starting the best book I can recommend is understanding Exposure. This was my bible when I started.
I mostly did family portraits of relatives and was lucky to do some nice Tfp shoots.
When I wanted to progress bought a yongnuo 568 ex II flash. What looks massive on a SL1 might I add. Pick this up on Craigslist for $60.
I used optical slave function and the pop flash for off camera triggering.
I found this setup did me well. I would also like to hear from others how they started on other systems like nikon, Sony, etc.
