Another excellent overlooked sunset spot in Bali is Jimbaran Beach which has many fishing boats to silhouette.

not sure why you'd build underneath the boulder strewn cliff of an steep escarpment...

So interesting. If they built 4 more buildings like the one on the left then it would be a huge game of cosmic 5 pin bowling.

I agree. Too bad when I was @Jimbaran, it rained like crazy.

I was @ Bromo Tengger Semeru National Park (East Java) two weeks ago. No, this is a different volcano. The recent eruption's from Mt. Merapi, Central Java. I also went to Mt. Merapi last year but it was cloud covered.

Here's Mt. Bromo (large crater, foreground) at sunrise. I was inspired after watching Baraka on Blu-ray.
<a href="http://www.flickr.com/photos/cephalosporin/5117428244/" title="Bromo Tengger Semeru National Park ~ East Java, Indonesia by YYZDez, on Flickr"><img src="http://farm5.static.flickr.com/4111/5117428244_a075fcce43_z.jpg" width="640" height="432" alt="Bromo Tengger Semeru National Park ~ East Java, Indonesia"></a>

There are five volcanoes inside the Tengger Caldera: Mount Bromo (2,392 m), Mount Batok (2,470 m), Mount Kursi (2,581 m), Mount Watangan (2,661 m), and Mount Widodaren (2,650 m).

This unique feature covers a total area of 5,250 hectares at an altitude of about 2,100 m. The massif also contains the highest mountain in Java, Mount Semeru (3,676 m), four lakes and 50 rivers.

Mount Batok is the only peak that is no longer active, and is covered in casuarina (Indonesian: cemara) trees. Mount Widodaren, located beside Mount Batok, contains the cave Widodaren, which is considered sacred by local people.

I did a night climb of Mt Merapi in '98. It rained half way up and was overcast when we got as far as we were allowed to go (just before the lava flows), our guide was a 66 year old villager who was in better shape than us (from climbing the volcano all his life).
The volcano I most want to climb is Kawah Ijen where there is a fascinating extraction by hand of chunks of sulfur. Google it if you are not familiar with it.

Did you try any of the seafood restaurants on the beach at Jimbaran? it was so delicious... and they cooked over a grill that used coconut husks as fuel!

Most beautifull location but it still takes skills and talent to show it this way, makes me want to go there.
